Key Objective

This position is responsible for regional internal systems audits and supporting local operational audits.  The primary local objective includes ensuring full compliance with the requirements of the Insurance Act and Regulations and related Guidelines issued by BNM, as well as with the company financial and operational procedures and business practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the regional IT audit plan by
  
  1. Assisting in preparation of risk assessments and audit planning schedules for assigned audit reviews
  2. Delivery of specific IT audits and acting as a key liaison point with auditee on a day-to-day basis
  3. Undertaking and documenting IT audit test procedures and results of tested controls
  4. Diligently identifying and documenting IT control issues and providing suitable mitigating recommendations
  5. Undertaking data analysis using reporting tools including ACL and MS Access
  6. Assisting and providing IT advice to other regional Internal Auditors
  7. Drafting good quality IT audit findings
  8. Assisting in the follow up of regional IT audit findings
  • Ensure that the company’s assets are safeguarded through the development and maintenance of sound internal control policies, practices and procedures.  Also, ensure adherence to management policies and procedures, and implemented in a manner which will optimize results
  • Interview appropriate members of management and staff, review appropriate corporate and departmental policy and procedures, and evaluate the effectiveness of control processes throughout the organisation
  • Develop value-added audit comments, review recommendations for improvement with operating management and prepare audit reports
  • Liaise with external auditors and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Assist in regional audit work on an as needed basis and schedule permitting
  • Ensure that the company observes, reports on and complies with the requirements of Bank Negara Malaysia
  • Other duties and projects as assigned and/or requested by management
  • Coordinate audits/visits by regulators (BNM, PIAM)
  • Assist in fraud reporting to Bank Negara Malaysia
  • Attend business meetings held by management as well as external meetings such as INTAG (Inter-networking meeting for Insurance and Takaful operators)
